The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre celebrated its seventh Environment Day by spending a recent Saturday protecting and conserving 160 endangered trees at Taman Tugu Negara (National Monument Park).

The Centre also achieved its eleventh consecutive EarthCheck certificate. ‘This achievement reaffirms our commitment to being an internationally recognised convention centre that operates its business in a responsible and sustainable manner,’ says Alan Pryor, the centre’s general manager.

Other than ongoing sustainability and conservation efforts, the centre also implements environmentally friendly practices such as the use of biodegradable cleaning products, minimal use of pesticides and energy-saving systems, such as finely tuned lighting controls and on-demand escalators.
