Australia puts NZ on display

Tourism New Zealand is currently hosting Taste of New Zealand events in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane as Australian associations look to learn more abut the range of venues, accommodation, activities and cuisine on offer.
'Association event organisers are always on the lookout for a unique and memorable experience for their delegates,” says Lisa Gardiner, manager for Business Events and Premium, Tourism New Zealand.

The events invite associations to sample New Zealand’s conference offering and will be attended by convention bureaus representing different regions of New Zealand. The bureaus will showcase their local venues, activities, accommodation and cuisine.
Associations hold annual events that can attract hundreds of delegates. With over 18,000 active associations across Australia, Gardiner says they represent a huge conference market, which New Zealand seeks to attract across the Tasman.
The event format allows us to give attendees a real understanding of the different regional experiences New Zealand offers,' says Gardiner.
'Importantly it also shows how easy it is to travel to and from each region and organisers can participate in creating their perfect ‘event recipe’ along the way,' she explains.
Tourism New Zealand works closely with event organisers to have New Zealand considered as their conferencing location. The support on offer includes funding to deliver a feasibility study, paid site inspections and delegate boosting services to ensure conference organisers meet their registration numbers.
