It is also expanding regionally, limiting its exposure to city lockdowns – particularly in the Auckland region. “We’re setting up in the Bay of Plenty and expanding in Hamilton / Waikato,” Botherway says. “It’s about positioning for the upswing when borders do eventually open up, and even for growth in domestic activity.” He says extending services in those regions makes sense considering the growth of business into Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre, the various hotels and Baypark in Tauranga. Christchurch and the South Island generally are also places the company is focusing on. “The opening of Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre will generate a lot more activity and we already have business booked there.” He adds that while the South Island business has predominantly revolved around Exhibition Hire Services and Displayworks, the Show Light & Power brand is currently growing in the marketplace there. “We’re comfortably settled in to our new warehouse on Halswell Junction Rd in Christchurch and ready to assist with any event requirements customers may have throughout the entire South Island.
