of the industry to help develop the conference programme. “We are grateful for the time these seven ambassadors have volunteered to ensure the programme is structured and balanced to appeal to our BEIA members,” Henshaw says. “It has been created to fit the current environment, examining the ongoing threats from COVID, the domestic and Australian markets, and looking ahead to international opportunities.” One of the conference ambassadors, Blair Glubb, CEO of Uno Loco says the BEIA conference provides an opportunity, amid ongoing uncertainty, to learn from peers, spark conversations and collaborate with others to move forward. “The feedback from past conference BEIA chief executive Lisa Hopkins says this year’s conference session themes, and the diverse range of speaker topics are highly relevant at this time of intense change. “We believe our next conference will be the most critical, and we want all members to be part of the conversation and solutions for our industry. We recognise that now, more than ever, we need to be together to support each other and look to the future,” Hopkins says. “The Hawke’s Bay Tourism team and their member network have done a tremendous amount of work to create a memorable conference, with activities and social events which will give a stunning showcase of the region and all that Hawke’s Bay is famous for,” she says. Heather Matthews, trade marketing and sales manager for Hawke’s Bay Tourism says the programme is comprehensive, interactive, and guaranteed to be thought-provoking. “We have structured it to deliver everything traditionally known and loved about Hawke’s Bay and complemented by an impressive range of new product and venues,” she says. The Napier War Memorial Centre on the waterfront will be the main conference venue, with ToiToi - Hawke’s Bay Arts and Event Centre hosting the gala dinner, and the Old Church Napier set for the welcome function.
