KJet has been working with internationally recognised animators ‘Animation Research Limited’ ARL and space architects ‘Art of Fact’ Limited since 2018 on the exciting project.
The renovation has transformed the space into a bespoke underwater theatre, complete with bass shakers installed into the tiered seating, allowing for dramatic story telling. The experience gives the viewer the feeling of being inside a time travel machine, taking off from the Main Town Pier and then turns back time 90 million years to reveal what Queenstown looked like!
Time Tripper beautifully tells the Māori Legend of Lake Wakatipu, explores the era of the dinosaurs and shows how Lake Wakatipu was carved out by a giant glacier.
There’s still opportunity for underwater viewing with the show screens rising to reveal the famous slinky eels, diving ducks and rainbow trout that lie beneath. The story is narrated by internationally recognised actor Temuera Morrison, seats approximately 30 people and the whole experience lasts just under 30 minutes.
Time Tripper is perfect for Conference and Incentive groups that want to learn about the culture and history of the region they are conferencing in, especially when time is limited.
