Metropolis Events is set to open a new venue, Q Events, in September. The 1,500sqm (16,145sqf) multipurpose venue will be located in the heart of Melbourne’s city centre and will be able to accommodate up to 450 people seated or 1,800 standing.
the Marriott is set to open a new property in Melbourne’s Docklands, a five-minute drive away from the city centre. It will be the first 5-star hotel in the suburb, boasting 189 luxury rooms, an infinity pool and a rooftop bar. The hotel will also offer 345sqm (3,713sqf) of flexible event space across five rooms, the largest catering for up-to 200 people standing.
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has announced the launch of an industry-leading, high-performance digital events platform that will allow customers to deliver truly connected virtual and hybrid events live, online and on demand. This includes multi-speaker presentations, keynotes, workshops, virtual breakout spaces, Q&As and networking. The lifespan of the event is also extended, with recordings available post-event. The MCEC has also retained its gold sustainability status through EarthCheck.
