Leslie is well known to those who specialise in selling the South Pacific, having been with Air New Zealand for the last 12 years. He was most recently senior product and pricing specialist for the islands, where he worked closely with the trade and tourism boards.
Reporting to Chris Thistlethwaite, general manager AU/NZ, Leslie’s responsibilities include increasing sales revenue within the New Zealand market, building strong commercial relationships with retail head offices, travel agents, wholesalers and corporate accounts, plus working closely with New Caledonia Tourism to grow tourism to New Zealand’s closest South Pacific neighbour.
Thistlethwaite says the airline has seen good growth out of New Zealand in the past two years and Leslie will be instrumental in building Aircalin’s business in the market. ‘New Caledonia has a lot of opportunity, and with a flight time of less than three hours from Auckland, New Zealanders can experience a taste of France even for a long weekend.’
