Cordis Auckland and Delamore Lodge on Waiheke Island were the only two hotels in New Zealand to receive this Recommended Rating for 2022, testament to their service commitment and luxury, world class offering. Cordis Auckland also received the Recommended Rating in 2020 and 2021, making this year the third time.
Forbes Travel Guide is the only global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas, a world-renowned authority in genuine five-star service. Their anonymous professional inspectors evaluate based on up to 900 objective standards, with an emphasis on exceptional service to help travellers select the world’s best luxury experiences. The only way hotels receive this recommendation is by earning it through their independent inspection process.
“We’re proud that our hotel is included in the list of award-winning hotels, restaurants and spas. The hospitality industry has faced unprecedented challenges over the past two years such as Covid-19 and border restrictions. We’ve had to adapt and become comfortable with the unknown, so we are incredibly proud to receive this prestigious accolade, acknowledging our hard work over a tough time for our business,” says managing director of Cordis Auckland, Franz Mascarenhas.
“We have our team at Cordis Auckland to thank for this award, they are our biggest asset. Their commitment to service excellence is second to none, providing guests with expert opinion on what to explore in Auckland, making sure they have every amenity needed for their stay and offering their advice and assistance no matter the request.”
CEO of Forbes Travel Guide, Hermann Elger says, “Travel has come back strongly, and the resilient hospitality industry is creatively rallying to accommodate the increased occupancy demand for most regions.”
“While the industry faces some lingering issues, the 2022 award winners proved ready for those challenges and more, demonstrating the best that luxury hospitality has to offer.”
Cordis Auckland has recently expanded with the opening of their new Pinnacle Tower, offering another 244 rooms at the hotel. This expansion will help keep up with the inevitable boom in demand following New Zealand’s reopening to the world this month.
